**Updated October 2020 for SY20-21 admission consideration**
Follow the following rubric and instructions
Theatre
- Prepare two 60 second monologues. The monologues should be age appropriate, must be memorized and from a produced play. You will be cut off at 3 minutes from the start of the first monologue.
- Be prepared to receive direction. The assessor will give two pieces of direction to the actor for each of their monologues to alter their performance of each monologue. The student will perform a section of both monologues again taking in the direction.
Assessment will take place on Zoom. When performing the monologue and the direction, the actor will be instructed to frame themselves in the shot so that they are visible from the knees up. Prior to the assessment, please prepare your space so that you can easily position the zoom camera so that the proper distance from the camera is possible to frame the actor from the knees up.
Some other considerations for your best zoom work.
- Make sure you are front lit and not backlit, performing with a window behind you is not advisable.
- Test out your assessment beforehand with a friend over zoom to be sure you are able to be heard and seen in the way you think you are being presented.
***Monologue suggestions are below. They are not required options, they are just there to help you if you are having trouble finding material for your assessment.
